There were 2 kolkhozs in Kupel, Ukrainian and Jewish. Jewish kolkhoz was given the land  that belonged to local big landowner before the revolution. On March 2, 2017 Sergiy Zadvornyy, Ukrainian historian, sent me a photograph of regional kolkhoz memebers conference in Kupel in the fall of 1931.

Michael (Mehl) Glaser, son of Rabbi Glazer and the brother of my grandmother Bertha, was born in Kupel April 13, 1912 and died in Odessa, May 13, 1992. I was at his funeral, and I remember a huge new cemetery with freshly dag rows of graves and clouds of  crows over them ...
