Miriam and Arye Leib Rosenbaum from Kupel
My name is Faye Berger. I am 72 years old and recently widowed.
My mother who passed away in 2007, was born in Kupel in 1911 Her name was Rose Rosenbaum. Her mother was Miriam and father was Louis (Arye Labe). He was a metal worker who was in the army band before he went to America. He left just after or before my mother was born. She had 2 surviving older sisters Mildred and Florence. Her father came to Toledo ,Ohio and settled there. and my mother and her sisters and mother came in 1921. My grandmother had a sister named Giesse who married to a Laderman.
A number of years ago I met Rabbi Rosenbaum from Chicago whose family was from Kupel, but we weren't able to establish a connection. I know that he had relatives in Omaha. I could never understand how there were so many Rosenbaums from Kupel and there was no connection. I have lived in Cleveland for all of my married life . I would be happy to hear more from you and answer any questions you have.
