Statement of Manya Boim

Bence Boim (Бенце Бойм) – born in Kupel on March 5, 1886. Father’s name was Itzhak. Married Elke Kesel (Елке Кесель). They both were murdered in Kupel.  Elke and Bence had a daughter Manya Boim, who lived in Birobidgan, USSR after the war.  Manya stated, that on June 30, 1941 Germans forced more than 50 Jewish men into small storage room, even put some people on top of the others, and blocked door and window. All Jews were dead next morning. Germans made local women to bury all bodies by the Lenin’s statue, in the middle of the shtetl.
